PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and method that designates a tone curve so as to revise an entire image. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus and method includes a step S1 where a user enters a control point to set a tone curve in R, G, B, a step S2 of calculating the R, G, B tone curve, an a step S3 where a difference between the tone curve and '(Rin, Gin, Bin) are converted into (Ron, Gon, Bon)' explicitly designated is considered to be an error and processing to compensate the error is conducted.
