PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failure of decoding and output processing of main pictures and sounds to be processed and to prevent a subsidiarily used program from hindering picture and voice outputs even in the case of execution of the a subsidiarily used program. SOLUTION: A receiver is provided with is provided with a demultiplexer 3 which separates a program and information related to the program from digital data where encoded picture and voice signals, the program executable on the receiver side, and information related to the program are multiplexed, a program reception part 10 which receives separated information, a program execution part 11 which executes the program, a control part 5 which controls operation of the program execution part 11 based on information related to the program, a picture processing part 7 and a voice processing part 9 which perform picture processing and voice processing on the basis of the control from the program execution part 11, and an operation part 12 which inputs operation information of a viewer, and the program execution part 11 controls operation of the program based on operation information inputted from the operation part 12.
