PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly select and output original image data and downloaded Web page data in accordance with a user's request such as quality priority and speed priority in an image processor for reading a printed matter of a Web page, recognizing its URL as characters, connecting the Web sever of the URL, generating and outputting the image data of the Web page. SOLUTION: A scanner 11 reads an original, acquires image data, recognizes the URL and a printing date as characters, and retrieves an HTML file concerned with the URL which is received after the printing data from a hard disk. At the time of detecting the HTML file, the picture data of the Web page are generated from the HTML file and outputted. When the HTML file is not detected, a new HTML file is received from the web server 20 of the URL through a communication network 30 and the image data of the Web page are generated from the received HTML file and outputted.
