PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing hot forging split steel connecting rod is provided to achieve improved workability and size accuracy, while reducing manufacturing cost and increasing strength of connecting rod. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of heating a high carbon non-tempered steel having a diameter of 30 to 50mm to the temperature of 1100 to 1200 Deg.C, and performing pre-form rolling so as to obtain a uniform forging pressure for a connecting rod(10); a second step of performing a hot forging process for integrating a rod(13) and a cap(14) of the connecting rod into a single body; a third step of performing a control cooling process; a fourth step of performing a trimming process and a short blasting process for making the surface of the connecting rod clean; a fifth step of performing a mechanical processing to the connecting rod, in such a manner that a notch(15) having a width of 0.2mm and a depth of 0.5mm is formed inside a bore of a large end(12) of the connecting rod, and the notch is fractured so as to split the connecting rod into the rod and the cap; and a sixth step of forming fracture surfaces at the large end of the split connecting rod, and coupling the fracture surfaces without processing the fracture surfaces.
