PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom estimate device that contains a talker image within a screen even when the position of talker cannot accurately be recognized and collects talker's voice without deterioration. SOLUTION: A talker position estimate section 12 uses signals picked up by microphones 111 -11M to estimate the position of a talker 19 and the power of the talker's voice. A noise power estimate section 13 estimates the noise power from signals picked up by the microphones 111 -11M. An accuracy estimate section 14 calculates the talker position estimate precision on the basis of the estimated noise power, the estimated talker's voice power and the estimated talker position. A talker range setting section 15 obtains a talker range on the basis of the estimated talker position and the talker position estimate accuracy. A camera direction/zoom calculation section 16 calculates the direction and the zoom of a television camera 18 so that the entire talker range is contained in the screen and controls the television camera 18.
