PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the loss of light reception in a photoelectric conversion part with respect to a solid-state image pickup device provided with a monitor photometric part in the light receiving face. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device is provided with photoelectric conversion parts PD1 which are two-dimensionally arranged on the light receiving face and photoelectrically convert a subject image projected on the light receiving face in the unit of pixels and accumulate signal charge to generate image data and monitor photometric parts PD2 which have light receiving apertures on the light receiving face and monitor the quantity of incident light on the light receiving face in the period of signal electric charge accumulation in the photoelectric conversion parts on the basis of the quantity of received light on the light receiving apertures. The light receiving apertures of the monitor photometric parts PD2 are arranged in crossing parts CR between vertical gaps V and horizontal gaps H of the two-dimensional array of photoelectric conversion parts PD1 to reduce the loss of light reception in the photoelectric conversion parts.
