PURPOSE: A power supply device and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to supply power to a load part without any decrease of power efficiency and omit the buck block in the circuit arrangement of an inverter which converts a DC power to an AC power. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device having a power supply device includes a first power conversion part(300) for converting AC power provided from the outside to a first DC power and primarily boosting the DC power to output, a second power conversion part(400) for converting the boosted DC power to AC power and secondarily boosting the AD power to output to a load part(backlight;500), a current detector(600) for detecting a current flowing in the load part and providing the detected current signal to the first power conversion part to control the output of DC power of a constant voltage, and a third power conversion part for converting the first DC power supplied from the first power conversion part into a plurality of second DC power to output to an LCD panel driving part.
