PURPOSE: A chucking device for checking a gripping state of an object is provided to determine whether or not a chuck grips the object by measuring pneumatic pressure of the chuck. CONSTITUTION: An air discharging gripping device is provided at a front end of a chuck(5), which grips an object. An air pipe(14) having an air feeding control device is connected to the air discharging gripping device so as to feed or discharge air. A pressure detecting sensor(18) is installed between a check valve(17) and a pipe connecting section(13) so as to measure pneumatic pressure of the chuck(5). Pneumatic pressure measured by the pressure detecting sensor(18) is sent to a program logic controller so as to determine whether the chuck(5) grips the object or not.
