PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of a lithium secondary battery, which has a positive activator composed of lithium nickel complex oxide, against overcharging. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery element 1 is housed in a case consisting of cases 2, 3, the battery element 1 having the positive electrode activator composed of lithium nickel complex oxide, to constitute the lithium secondary battery. The specific surface area of the lithium nickel complex oxide is 0.1 to 10 m<2> /g and the surface area capacity ratio S/C between a battery surface area S (cm<2> ) and a battery capacity C (mAh) is 0.05 to 5. |
