PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recording device which can make a user recognize a lack of the recording capacity by a relatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: The program recording device is provided with a tuner 2 which receives a broadcast program, an HDD 6 for recording of the received broadcast program, a controller 5 which compares the broadcasting time length of the program with the remaining capacity for recording of the HDD 6, and a display device 7 which informs the user of a lack of the remaining capacity for recording in the case that the controller 5 detects the lack of the remaining capacity for recording.
