PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hybrid processing unit, equipped with a pressure feed roller conveying a printing medium while pressing it against a scanner to an opposite position to a scanner, from causing jammings or deviation in feed pitch by avoiding catching of the printing medium with respect to the pressure feed roller. SOLUTION: The hybrid processor 10 is equipped with a conveyance pat 15 which guides a check P, print heads 21 and 23 which are arranged along the conveyance path 15 and print on the check P, the scanner 25 which is arranged along the conveyance path 15 and scan the print surface of the check P, a scanner feed roller 26 which is arranged opposite to the scanner 25 and conveys the check P, while pressing it against the scanner 25, and a roller retracting mechanism 32 which retracts the scanner feed roller 26 from the scanner 25, to open the conveyance path 15.
