PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device of a cascade connected resonator type where a passing band width is wide, an insertion loss and VSWR are small, electrode formation is easy and pressure-resistance deterioration in breakdown voltage is not caused easily. SOLUTION: A plurality of comb-like electrode parts 3, 4 and 5 are provided by cascade connected resonators. The pitch of a transducer fingers 10 at a part from the adjacent end of respective IDTs adjacent to each other is made to be shorter than the pitch of transducer fingers other than the parts of the parts 3 and 4, and the duty ratio of the fingers 10 at a part of the reduced pitch is set to be smaller than the duty ratio of the transducer fingers at the other parts.
