<p>PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing pyridine-n-oxide or derivatives thereof by using nonhomogenized catalyst which is insoluble in a reaction solution, thereby preparing pyridine-n-oxide or derivatives thereof simply and recycling the used catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing pyridine-n-oxide or derivatives thereof characteristically comprises the step of oxidating pyridine or its derivative at 50-100 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst of a nonhomogenized metal compound represented by the formula(2) of H4SiO4·12MO3·nH2O or formula(3) of HPO4·12MO3·nH2O in the amount of 3-70 parts by weight, referred to 100 parts by weight of the pyridine or its derivative, using an oxidant in the amount of 1.0-5.0 mole equivalent, referred to 1 mole equivalent of the pyrimidine or its derivative, wherein pyridine-n-oxide is represented by the formula(1).</p> |
