The invention comprises water-soluble reactive yellow monoazo dyes of formula <FORM:1021013/C4-C5/1> wherein the azo group stands in meta- or para-position to the grouping -NH-CO-, X is a hydrogen atom or a carboxyl group and the benzene nucleus A may be substituted by chlorine atoms and/or methyl groups. The dyes are prepared by diazotizing an amine of formula <FORM:1021013/C4-C5/2> wherein one Y is -NH2 and the other Y is a hydrogen atom in the form of its sulphuric acid esters and coupling with a 1-(sulphophenyl)-3-carboxy-5-pyrazolone The dyes may be used to dye cellulose fibres in yellow shades in the presence of acid-binding agents. Examples desribe the preparation of the dyes.
