PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive variable resistor element, an integral circuit whose time constant is easily controlled, a magnetic disc drive unit using the same, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A variable resistor element R included in an RC integral circuit 10 on a circuit board 11 is equipped with printed resistors 21 electrically connected to a first electrode layer 12, first soldering lands 31 each electrically connected to the printed resistors 21, and second soldering lands 32 electrically connected to a second electrode layer 13. The lands optionally selected from the above lands are short-circuited with short-circuiting parts (solder) so as to control the time constant of the integral circuit 10. Therefore, a magnetic disc drive unit is capable of easily making an adjustment of conforming the generation timing of index burst signals to specifications.
