To facilitate the passage of the fork arms of a pallet truck over the lower deck B 1 or B 2 of a pallet, each fork arm 44 is provided with a rotatable disc assembly 90. Each assembly 90 comprises a fixed bearing race 118 which is secured to mounting blocks 88 on a plate 82 adapted to be mounted on the fork arm and which is located intermediate the disc 100 and a retainer 110, Fig. 6 (not shown). The axis of rotation x-x of the disc 100 and retainer 110 is inclined to the longitudinal and transverse vertical planes whereby the lower peripheral surface of each disc presents a rolling inclined plane surface for easing the climb of the fork over the lower deck of the pallet. The main frame 12, Fig. 2 (not shown), of the truck comprises a pair of uprights 79 provided with rollers adapted to engage in the inwardly facing upright channels 36 of the load frame 14 and an hydraulic ram 20 is mounted between frame members 17, 18 of the frames 12, 14.</p> |
