Arrangement for the combined waste gas and ballast water processing comprises a thermoelectric machine (2) producing hot waste gas containing a pipe network (3) for expelling waste gas; a heat exchanger (6) containing a flow cycle (6.1) for a first heat exchange fluid; and a ballast system containing ballast water and a ballast water flow cycle. The flow cycle for the ballast water comprises an intermediate volume (13) in the flow direction of the ballast water in the water flow cycle before the ballast tank. An Independent claim is also included for a process for processing ballast water in a ship.
