PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a more exact motion vector while considering mixing of objects. SOLUTION: On the basis of an input image, an area specifying part 101 specifies a mixing area. On the basis of the input image and area information, a mixing ratio calculating part 102 calculates a mixing ratio showing the ratio of mixing of a foreground object component and a background object component. A motion estimating part 104 generates a plurality of estimated motion vectors, calculates a difference between each of pixels in the concerned frame of the input image and each of pixels in two adjacent frames adjacent to the concerned frame on the basis of the mixing ratio of the concerned pixel and finds two differential images. On the basis of the estimated motion vectors, the motion estimating part 104 relatively aligns two differential images, calculates the correlation of the concerned block corresponding to the concerned pixel and a correspondent block, detects the estimated motion vector which has the maximum correlation, and outputs it as a motion vector corresponding to the concerned pixel of the concerned frame. |
