PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method with which high-accuracy vector data can be easily generated without requiring detailed setting by a user. SOLUTION: This method has a step (S463) for converting input bit map data to vector data on the basis of a parameter having a prescribed setting value, a step (S465) for calculating the difference of the input bit map data and the vector data, and a step (S467) for changing the setting value to a setting value with which vector data of an accuracy higher than those generated with the relevant setting value can be generated, when the difference is greater than a threshold (S466: YES).
