PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interactive transmission/reception method and system, and interactive transmission/reception terminal device, which any users, not limiting to ones aurally challenged, can use anywhere. SOLUTION: In an interactive transmission/reception system, which receives character groups transmitted from a transmitting source with a communication means and recognizes them as texts with a character recognizing means and converts these texts into voice signals by voice synthesizer to transmit the signals to a transmission destination, the interactive transmission/reception system and the interactive transmission/reception terminal are equipped with a call device such as telephones used at the transmitting source, a voice/ character group mutual converter for converting voice transmitted from the transmitting source into character groups, a reception terminal for receiving signals converted into voice or character groups by the voice/character group converter.
