PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal vapor laser that can maintain stable laser oscillation for a long time by suppressing deterioration of the laser a beam transmittance and increase in the thermal lens actions of the laser beam transmitting windows for a long time. SOLUTION: This metal vapor laser is provided with a discharge tube 1 supplied with a gas for electric discharge, window fixing tubes 8 and 9 which are respectively coupled with the opened end sections of the tube 1 and extended outward, and the laser light transmitting windows 10a and 10b respectively attached to the outside opened end sections of the tubes 8 and 9. This laser is also provided with electrodes 3 and 4 for supplying discharge voltages at both end sections of the discharge tube 1. The laser obtains laser light by generating a metal vapor by vaporizing a vapor-source metal placed in the discharge tube 1 by heating the inside of the tube 1 by causing electric discharge. In the window fixing tubes 8 and 9, at least one or more light-transmissive metal vapor shield plate 24 and 24a-24c having prescribed thicknesses are installed with prescribed intervals from the internal surfaces of the laser light transmitting windows 10a and 10b. |
