PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fast deliver a handwritten letter and a letter with photographs, etc., pasted thereto to a receiver. SOLUTION: A sender allows a scanner of an input system 11 to read a letter written by the sender himself and further inputs the e-mail address of a receiver. A scanned image and the receiver address are registered in an intermediary system 12. The intermediary system 12 transmits an e-mail, notifying of an incoming mail to the receiver address. The e-mail includes mail specification information specifying the mail information stored in the intermediary system 12. In the case a receiver, who uses a mail client 15b that cannot display an image receives the notification mail, the receiver goes to an output system 17, to input the mail specification information. The output system 17 downloads mail data, corresponding to the mail specification information from the intermediary system 12 and prints out the mail data.
