PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical amplification system that can easily cope with future extension of Raman excitation light sources in preparation for increase in number of wavelengths in future even when the system is configured without Raman excitation at initial introduction. SOLUTION: The optical amplification system is connected to an optical transmission line through which a Raman excitation light is transmitted via a connector, and the system is provided with an optical amplifier for amplifying an optical main signal, a light receiving element for detecting a reflected light in a connected end face when the connector is disconnected, a circuit for applying reduction control to an output power of the optical amplifier depending on the detection of the reflected light by the light receiving element, and a block filter connected between the optical amplifier and the connected for blocking the Raman excitation light. |
