PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotor of high magnetism of which an ineffective area on a magnetic pole boundary can be substantially eliminated. SOLUTION: A magnet rotor 100 has a magnetic pole protrusions N1-N5 (S1-S5) at a fan shaped top surface and a magnetic pole recesses n1-n4 (s1-s5) at a fan shaped bottom surface, which are alternately formed on the side X (Y) of the rotor around its shaft hole, and both its sides X, Y are opposed to each other. The magnetic pole protrusions N1-N2 and the magnetic pole recesses n1-n2 at the end side X, and the magnetic pole recesses s1-s2 and the magnetic pole protrusions S1-S2 at the other side Y, are conformable at each side of the rotor, respectively. All the magnetic pole protrusions N1-N5 (S1-S5) at each end side of the rotor X (Y) are the same magnetic pole, respectively. The magnetic pole protrusions N1-N2 at the end side X of the rotor are North poles and the magnetic pole protrusions S1-S2 at the other end side Y of the rotor are South poles. Even if the diameter of the rotor is shortened, the influence of the ineffective area may not be actualized substantially. Since magnetization intensity at both end sides X, Y of the rotor depends on the rotor shaft length, shortening of the diameter of the rotor followed by the longer rotor length does not cause reduction of magnetic flux.
