PURPOSE: An exhaust gas recirculation system of a vehicle is provided to prevent the knocking of an engine caused by the recirculation of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A recirculating pipe(5) connects an exhaust pipe(4) to an intake manifold(2), and pierces an extension pipe(10) in a coolant circulating pipe(9). An EGR valve(6) and a coolant valve(11) are installed at the recirculating pipe(5) and the extension pipe(10) respectively. The EGR valve(6) and coolant valve(11) are connected to an electronic control unit(7). The electronic control unit(7) is connected to an engine temperature sensor(12), an exhaust temperature sensor(13) and a knocking sensor(14).
