PURPOSE: A television and a method for displaying abnormality thereof are provided to turn off a television after storing an abnormal state of the television when the abnormal state is generated and display the stored abnormal state of the television when the television is turned on. CONSTITUTION: A television includes a microcomputer(12) for sensing abnormality of a power part(10) and a driving circuit part(11) for turning off the power of the television according to the sensed abnormality and outputting a control signal for displaying the abnormal state of the television turned off, a memory part(13) for storing the abnormality of the power part or the driving circuit part, a signal processing part(14) for carrying out the processing for displaying the abnormal state to an OSD according to the control signal of the microcomputer, and a display part(15) for displaying the abnormal state processed by the signal processing part.
