FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at enlarging technological capabilities by provision of reliable starting of engine owing to automatic heating of fuel depending on ambient temperature and provision of quick response owing to increasing convective heat transfer of heating element at time unit per unit of filter area. Proposed device for heating fuel in diesel engines has fuel heater with operating heat exchange chamber and heater with heating element for fine fuel filter, temperature pickup, electronic control unit, mode- of-operation selector and supply unit. Fuel heater is placed in fuel system before fine fuel filter. Said heater is of flow- through design, while heater for filter is made in form of split clamp which can change its diameter. Said heater is installed coaxially relative to fine fuel filter. EFFECT: provision of reliable starting of engine at low temperature. 5 cl, 4 dwg
