FIELD: processes for separating vapor - gas mixtures containing vapors of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, their oxides or sulfides. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of providing direct contact of flow of exhaust gases in gas duct with cooling relatively large (1-10 mm) solid particles; introducing particles into such zone of gas duct where temperature of exhaust gases exceeds critical temperature of desublimation of trapped vapor; realizing "falling down" of particles by action of gravity through gas flow; selecting particle size according to condition that rated speed of particles in suspended state exceeds speed of exhaust gases in zone of introducing particle to gas duct.
