Determining geometric position of points on surface of body, by measuring rigid body movements and at least six model degrees of freedom of three or more reference points

At least two linearly independent rigid body movements of the body are measured, at least six model degrees of freedom of at least three reference points that do not lie on a straight line are measured, and the measurements are used to determine the geometric position coordinates of further points. More than six model degrees of freedom may be measured, to refine the determination of the position coordinates of the reference points.
