A portable, self-contained medical diagnostic system (100) is provided for assessing urinary function. The system includes a control device (102) including a processor, a pump device (118), and a pressure sensor (706, 707) , and a test module removably coupled to the control device (102), and further including a pressure interface (1026a) and a tubing assembly (1004) defining a first fluid conduit (1010) between a first fluid inlet (1006) and a first fluid outlet (1008). The pump device (118) is coupled to the first fluid conduit for pumping fluid therethrough. The system also includes an insert member having a first channel therethrough and coupled to the first fluid outlet so that fluid flowing through the first fluid conduit may flow throug h the first channel. The insert member is dimensioned for insertion into a patient's bladder through the urethral canal. When so inserted, the pressure interface transmits bladder pressure information to the pressure sensor (103 0).
