<p>An outer ring member for constant velocity joint and a method of manufacturing the member, the method comprising the steps of forming an intermediate preliminary formed body (16) having a cup part (21) of incomplete shape by pressurizing a large diameter part (14) without applying a low temperature annealing treatment and a lubricating chemical conversion coat treatment thereto, applying the low temperature annealing treatment and the lubricating chemical conversion coat treatment to the intermediate preliminary formed body (16), forming the formed body having the cup part (8) with ball rolling grooves (17a to 17f) by applying a rearward extruding formation to the intermediate preliminary formed body (16), and continuously performing an ironing formation before the formed body is hardened by machining without applying the low temperature annealing treatment and the lubricating chemical conversion coat treatment to the formed body.</p> |
