PURPOSE: A color interpolation device for an image sensor is provided to carry out the edge sensing interpolation by two line memories without any additional memory, thereby increasing the resolution of the image data. CONSTITUTION: A color interpolation device for an image sensor includes first to third line memories(200,220,240) for receiving R,G,B color values output from an images sensor in sequence to store, a 3x2 interpolation window storing element(260) for receiving color values output from two of the line memories not in write operation for the R,G,B color values via first and second lines to store, and an interpolation element(280) for receiving the color values from the 3x2 interpolation window storing element to carry out an edge sensing interpolation operation and output interpolated R,G,B color values, wherein the interpolation operation is carried out in response to vertical and horizontal components of the color values and the type of the color values stored in the 3x2 interpolation window storing element. |
