PURPOSE: To provide a rotating electric machine capable of satisfactorily reducing cogging torque. CONSTITUTION: In a motor 10, when the total number of cores 22 in a rotor 18 is taken as Z, the diameter of the outer periphery of the rotor 18 is taken as D, the width in the outer-peripheral direction of the rotor 18 of teeth 24 is taken as T, the shortest length in the outer-peripheral direction of the rotator 18 between points where an upper edge and a lower edge of the outer periphery of the rotor 18 face tapered sections 16 of both ends in the bent direction of a magnet 14 is taken as X, and the total number of the teeth 24 which face the magnet 14 in an X range as a whole when the teeth 24 face the magnet 14 in the center of the X range is taken as n, (Dπ/Z)xn+T<X<(Dπ/Z)x(n+1)-T or (Dπ/Z)x(n-1)+T<X<(Dπ/Z)xn-T is formed. Therefore, a flux stability condition can be generated twice at every 2π/Z rotation of the rotor 18, thus fluctuations in the flux in the respective flux stability conditions can be divided and reduced, thereby satisfactorily reducing generated cogging torque.
