Means of treating and/or preventing diseases caused by a splicing variant, neurodegenerative diseases typified by Alzheimer~s disease and so on. A nucleic acid seemingly participating in the formation of a presenilin-2 exon 5- deficient splicing variant; an inhibitor inhibiting the binding between a protein and a nucleic acid causing the splicing variant; and a method of screening the inhibitor.
