A method of manufacturing an electrical contact pin (505) is presented, comprising: cutting wire stock to form a narrowed tail portion (509) of an electrical contact pin (505), wherein a periphery of the tail portion (509) is displaced from a periphery of the remaining portion of the electrical contact pin (505) in directions perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the wire stock; and forming a contact portion (506) opposite the tail portion (509).
