Manufacture of assembly of components for electric power-assisted steering, by pre-positioning and compressing input shaft with torsion bar, before setting electrical center

A torsion bar is pressed into a hole in an output shaft (3) or pinion. The input shaft (2) is pushed over the torsion rod, to approximately preset the electrical center position. Pre-positioning in performed by means of a serration (12) on the torsion rod by joint overlap. The input shaft is locally compressed with the torsion bar. The electrical center is then set by the positioning and attachment of a rotation angle sensor (6,7).
