PURPOSE: A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the color coordinates at side surfaces by forming a color filter for blue with resin of higher light scattering characteristics than the other color filters. CONSTITUTION: A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes a black matrix(40) formed on an insulating substrate and defining pixel areas, red, green and blue color filters(51-53) formed in the pixel areas, and common electrodes(60) formed on the color filters and the black matrix, wherein the blue color filter is formed of resin having light scattering characteristics higher than the color filters for red and green, and the common electrodes are patterned to have a plurality of openings.
