Heat-insulating vertically perforated brick comprises diamond-shaped holes (1). The inner transverse webs (8) at the diamond corners are reinforced. The longitudinal (11) and transverse webs (12) enclosing the holes are reinforced on the outer (5) and inner side zones (6) of the brick at least on the side assigned to the inner wall side. The longitudinal web is at least 1.2-3 times the web thickness of the normal longitudinal web and the transverse web is 1.5-4 times the web thickness of the normal longitudinal web. The offsets (9) in the course of the collision joints are arranged exclusively in the reinforced outer and inner side zones of the brick. The transverse webs of the double-webbed front edges (13) have increased thickness .
