PURPOSE: A computer maintenance method is provided to register data on computer parts, softwares and a maintenance history over the internet, and to use the registered data when a computer is repaired. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. First, a user accesses and logs in a web site offering a computer maintenance service. The user can be an end user, a seller, a service man or a service company who has a different data access level. The seller, the service man or the service company can register data on end users. The address and the access time of a host computer, registered or referred to by the user, are recorded. The registered items are a kind, a name, a purchase place, an after service period, a version or a repair history on a hardware and data on a software. The service man or the service company records a repair specification, a trouble cause, and a repair time if a computer is repaired. When a mishap is found at a part, a driver or a program, the end user can search for other user, using the same part or program, in a database and repair the computer by himself or herself with a help from the searched user. The users can receive the latest data on computer parts or programs.
