In the production of porous concrete by molding a mix of quartz powder, cement, lime, pore former, porous concrete powder (I), other additives and water, allowing it to expand and set to a semi-solid crude block with adequate green strength, de molding, cutting into individual moldings and hardening in an autoclave, (I) is treated with a hydrophobizing agent to increase its fraction in the solid components of the mix.
