A refractory material consists of 5 to 35 wt. %, preferably of 10 to 30 wt. % of Cr2O3 with the grain size up to 0.1 mm, of 1 to 10 wt. %, preferably 3 to 6 wt. % of ZrO2 with the grain size between 0.5 and 4.0 mm and also of 55 to 94 wt. %, preferably 64 to 87 wt. % of Al2O3 with the grain size between 0.2 to 4.0 mm.
