PURPOSE: A device and method for managing system state information is provided to maintain and manage changed state information exactly by accessing a memory database directly and maintaining a polling period of each state block shortly. CONSTITUTION: A memory database(50) stores various kinds of state information and updates changed state information. A mapping table updating unit(70) accesses the memory database(50) and updates changed state information in a table. A shared memory mapping table(60) displays a state information change or not with respect to each managed-objected state information area from the mapping table updating unit(70). State managing units(10,20) sense a state of the managed object periodically, collect changed state information from the managed object, process the collected state information, and update the information in the memory database(50). A state information transmitting unit(40) senses a data state of the shared memory mapping table(60) periodically, collects state information from an area of the memory database(50) corresponded to a data changed area, and transmits the information to an operator terminal.
