PROPULSION DEVICE FOR SHIP

PURPOSE: To provide a propulsion device for a ship comprising a main propeller and a push type POD propeller installed therebehind. CONSTITUTION: The propulsion device for the ship comprises the main propeller 2 and the push type POD propeller 10A installed therebehind. Grooves 15 running along the hub vortex of the main propeller 2 are provided at the front end portion of the casing of the POD propeller 10A whereby turning flow flows along the grooves 15, diffusing and weakening the hub vortex to reduce resistance while also reducing the loss of propulsion forces.
