A toilet seat has as an extractor fan (24) drawing air from within the upper inner basin. The air is drawn through apertures within a horseshoe-shaped duct forming part of the toilet seat and is discharged through a pipe (26) passing through the S-bend (18) water trap and magnetic back-flow prevention valve.
