An item of furniture has a shutter blind (1) hatch made up of a series of interlocking profiled battens anchored to a base batten profile (3). The base batten profile has an essentially rectangular cross section made up of a U-shaped channel (3) and a flat interlocking cover (4). The two parts (3, 4) are made of the same or different materials. The channel profile (3) is aluminium and the cover (4) is plastic.
