The automatic binding process is for binding wire mesh and concrete-steel mates which have been wound into rolls. The longitudinal wire projections at the end of the mesh strip length (1) are bent round their upright axes so that the ends pass back below one of the transverse wires (4) or under the longitudinal wire (3) to prevent the roll (2) springing open.
