<p>A color image forming device for forming a toner image of a plurality of colors on a medium, for reducing the slipping of an intermediate transfer element in driving, and for lowering misregistration, the device comprising image forming units (12-1 to 12-4) for forming on at least one image carrier a toner image of a plurality of colors, an intermediate transfer element (24), a drive roller (26) having an insulating layer (26-2) on the surface thereof and driving the intermediate transfer element, a primary transfer means (38-1 to 38-4) for applying a transfer voltage to the intermediate transfer element (24) driven by a drive roller (26) to subject the toner image to primary transfer for each of the plurality colors, and a secondary transfer means (32, 45) for secondary-transferring the toner image of the plurality of colors on the intermediate transfer element onto the medium. The drive roller (26) drives the intermediate transfer element (24) by using an electrostatic attracting force generated on the insulating layer (26-2) by means of current flowing through the element (24) due to a primary transfer voltage.</p> |
