PURPOSE: A method for guiding a route of a subway in a mobile communication terminal is provided to easily and quickly retrieve the shortest distance route to a destination by providing a distance and a required time to the destination and a route of the shortest path through an LCD. CONSTITUTION: After inputting starting place information, a user selects a destination menu, and retrieves a destination station among information of each station to select the destination station or directly inputs the destination station(S3). A control unit of a mobile communication terminal retrieves a subway line through the inputted destination station(S4). The control unit discriminates whether a subway line identical to a subway line of the inputted starting place exists among the retrieved subway lines(S5). If the subway line identical to the subway line of the inputted starting place exists, the control unit calculates the number of stations to be passed in a path of the identical subway line and a required time(S6). The control unit retrieves an other path including an exchange riding path, and calculates the number of stations passed according to each path and a required time including an exchange riding time(S7). The control units sorts the retrieved paths in MIN, MIN+1, and MIN+2 sequences according to the calculated required time(S8). The control unit displays a route of a path corresponding to the shortest distance among the sorted paths together with required time information on an LCD(S9).
