<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrofitting method which can impart, to a handrail, horizontal load-bearing strength substantially the same as that of a handrail fixed according to a conventional prefabricated form method (welding method). SOLUTION: According to the retrofitting method, holes 8, 9 are formed in a parapet portion of a concrete skeleton in a balcony or a corridor of an apartment house or the like, and an epoxy adhesive is filled therein, followed by rigidly bonding a support reinforcing member 7 of the handrail as an erect anchor to the epoxy adhesive in the holes. Further, a support portion 1 of the aluminum handrail is fitted onto the rigidly erected support reinforcing member 7, and then fixed to the same by screws.</p> |
