PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving belt having a compact cross member satisfied with required strength. SOLUTION: The driving belt comprises a carrier composed of two sets of driving belt units 5, 6 neighboring each other at a position where the cross member 4 is mounted, the cross member 4 having two opposed cutouts 7, 8. A first section 11, a second section 12 and a third section 13 of the cross member 4 are located at the lower sides of the driving belt units 5, 6, at the middle thereof and at the upper sides thereof, respectively. The cutouts 7, 8 have inner faces directed to the sides of the driving belt units. The first section 11 has a protruded edge 26 with its lower portion being at least 0.1 mm thinner than its upper portion. A central portion of a lower edge 24 has a height equal to or greater than the protruded edge 26.
